MORE ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

Food and art naturally go hand-in-hand—two things which also define Melbourne. From fine art to fine food, and street art to street food, the correlation is strong. So in this experience that’s uniquely Melbourne, the street culture of graffiti will be meshed with the elegance of the Alluvial Restaurant’s food.

Take your friends or teambuild with your colleagues during this unforgettable lunch or dinner experience. Get creative as you unleash your inner-Banksy in this hands-on one hour graffiti masterclass—who knows, your art could be worthy of the graffiti-clad walls of Hosier Lane. Either way it will get the creative right-side of your brain exercising more than usual as you think or paint, outside the box.

Follow it up with more art, but in edible form, at the InterContinental’s classy Alluvial Restaurant. Their modern European menu is inspired by the best local produce with ingredients also sourced from the hotel’s own rooftop herb garden and beehives. You and your group will be in for a treat, with a two-course lunch or dinner while enjoying a postcard view of its glass atrium space. Your meal also comes with a choice of house wine, beer or soft drink.

One thing’s for sure, conversation over your next lunch break won’t be the same.

BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW

Unleash Your Inner Artist At InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto
Banksy is considered one of the world’s most well-known and controversial graffiti artists. For over 20 years the true identity of this street artist is still unknown—although it’s believed he’s based in England. Banksy’s art has reached the world—America, Canada, England, France, Israel and Palestine are just some of where he’s stamped his work.

Bold and unafraid, Banksy makes strong political and social statements through his art. Like any artist, he has his trademark. For Banksy this means a distinct stencilling technique along with his dark humour.

In the late 90s Banksy produced ‘The Parachuting Rat’ in Melbourne (Prahran). In 2012 the piece was accidentally ruined by contractors who were drilling pipes through for a café.

Have you spotted his work?

“Speak softly, but carry a big can of paint.” - Banksy
