It was a fabulous experience. The team at Eastside Kitchen and Bar were knowledgable and friendly. Our only suggestion was that it was a bit slower to enable time to savour the meat and wine.

A lovely experience but it seemed a little rushed: too much food too soon, out of sync with the wine, and then we finished an hour earlier than expected and were not offered anything to drink (which I was very happy to pay for). This didn't take away from the fun time we had, but it could have been better spaced, and with the extra time at the end, the restaurant could have made a lot more money from the group.

  • The newest addition to Chippendale’s growing culinary precinct, Eastside Grill is one of Sydney’s hottest grill restaurants. It combines the atmosphere of New York’s meat packing district with an American-influenced menu and the distinctive flavour of the Japanese Binchotan charcoal grill.
  • Head Chef Angie Ford, will take you and your guests through the ins and outs of grilling the perfect steak, from the best cuts of beef to use and how to create delicious rubs and flavour-packed sauces to a demo of how to use the grill like a master.
  • After your steak session, sample a range of full-bodied Shiraz wines presented by Ivan Gasparini (ex manager at Marco Pierre White restaurant in Dubai) as he reveals the best foods to match them with and outlines the different Australian varieties and wine-growing regions. You’ll get to tuck into some amazing steaks as you enjoy the gorgeous range of reds.
